SCHRAM - A YEAR ROUND DESTINATION

We’re a few months into our expansion now, and while the structure is coming together, so is the vision behind it. Things are in the works at Schram Vineyards, and I wanted to give you the inside scoop on what we’re building and why.

Let’s be real—running a winery in Minnesota means we pack a lot into those sunny summer and crisp fall months. But what about the rest of the year? As much as we love fire pits and blankets, we knew it was time to think bigger (and warmer) to even further embrace all the seasons in Minnesota.

This expansion is all about making Schram a year-round destination—not just for wine lovers, but for foodies, brunchers, class takers, and those looking for a cozy spot to hang out with friends, even when there’s snow on the vines.

We’re adding:

• More indoor spaces for tastings, events, and wine education

• A restaurant expansion to serve up more seasonal, local, and winemaker's dinners

• TVs so you can still enjoy a beverage at the vineyard without missing your favorite local team

• Cozy spots perfect for winter visits

• Areas to showcase Minnesota-made products and collaborations

• Of course, we will have new outdoor spaces with amazing views to enjoy as well!

  
  

Why are we doing this? Because we want to keep growing smart. This isn’t just about more tables or more wine glasses—it’s about supporting the incredible team behind it all. Our winemakers, brewers, kitchen crew, event staff, and managers are the heart of Schram. And to keep them employed year-round as we do, we need to create spaces that keep guests coming through every season so we can provide a more consistent schedule and a career in hospitality.

Also, let’s be honest—small businesses in Minnesota face some tough challenges. from labor laws to a lot of red tape and licensing. This expansion helps us stay viable, sustainable, and ready to keep pouring (pun intended) into our team and our community.

So what’s next? Dust, hard hats, and a whole lot of excitement as we continue to build out the space! We’ll be sharing progress along the way. We still have a lot of decisions to make as we continue to shape this new building and the service models that will come after it.
